When you pay for your water usage, any leak is very costly. Repair went very quickly and I was also given an estimate for a bigger job that will need attention.

The system was tied into the existing baseboard and domestic hot water plumbing system of the house and the three attached apartments, where are all heated by the same boiler. We were going to pay $16,000 or more this year for fuel oil alone, that's how expensive oil has gotten. Plus it leaked heat like crazy, was polluting and horribly inefficient: we're hoping to save at least $3000-4000 per year with the new, unbelievably compact propane burner that hangs on the wall (the fuel burner took up a whole room and was noisy as heck!
Randy came out and estimated the job, helped us get partial financing through a private lender, and his crew showed up and started to work and 10 days later we had our new heating system installed.
Norm did all the plumbing work, creating a new network of copper piping to tie into the existing system, and he did a beautiful job. Randy even had Norm and Tom dig the hole for the 1,000 propane tank buried in the yard for us, and they redistributed the dirt in some previously flooded areas.
We're very happy with the new system, and Farrell Brothers even sent us an email saying if we had any problems with anything during the hurricane that just went through the Northeast, to call them and they'd be there. They'll also service the new unit every year, and I have the sense any time I have a question or problem, they'll do their best to help us out.
I think this is a top notch professional company, thank you for the great job guys!

My second floor tenant complained that her apartment was cold. I investigated and found the thermostat was calling, the circulator was running, the pilot was on, but the gas valve wouldn't open. After investigating the controls I was familiar with I realized I needed help. I called Farrell Bros. who had installed the heating system about a year and a half ago. They caught a technician on his way back to the office and diverted him to my location. The tech arrived about a half hour later and we investigated. The tech determined that the electric flue damper was not opening, which prevented the gas valve from opening. The tech opened the flue stack and found a dead bird jamming the damper in the closed position. We removed the bird, the problem was solved and I was totally satisfied.

They serviced both heaters and replaced the pipe leading from my hot water heater to my chimney.  They also replaced a coupling.  Everything went very well.  Farrell Brothers was prompt, thorough, and offered great suggestions about the work.

At 9am on a Saturday morning we discovered we had an upstairs toilet leak when my husband came downstairs and walked into the kitchen and nearly slipped and fell on the wet floor. I called right away and the answering service was polite and efficient. The plumber repair person called and advised it would be a $150 surcharge for emergency service - expensive, but worth it for the water we had. He came out promptly and clearly explained the problem and repairs to my husband. There is no more leaks and I am happy. This is my 2nd need to use Farrell Bros. and if I need any more plumbing help, I will use them again.

 We had water problems in our basement from hurricanes Irene and Lee, causing us to install a sump-pump. At 4:00 pm, I looked on Angie‚Äôs list, found Ferrell Brothers, called them, spoke to the receptionist and she had Peter at our house within a half hour.  Peter was here for approximately two hours, doing a great job with the sump-pump and all the necessary pipe and drainage installations. He was very quiet, professional and courteous. I would highly recommend this company for all of your plumbing needs and would definitely use them again!

I am so glad that I went with Farrell Brothers, Inc.  I called this morning, and because of a cancellation, he was here within the hour.  He phoned 10 minutes prior to arriving.   Upon entering my house, he put on booties over his shoes).  Peter was polite, professional, informative and thorough.  He explained why I was having a problem (with hard water and calcium buildup) and he was helpful as to how to prevent the problems in the future.  As he finished one problem, I asked if he could look at another, and he let me know what the charges would be.  I would not hesitate to call this company again when/if needed, or to recommend them to family and friends.

Removal of old air conditioning coil and gas-fired furnace and installation of new units.   Farrell Brothers' owner, Randy Rowe, spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with me answering all of my questions about the new high-efficiency furnaces, the scope of the job, and the prices and features of various furnaces.  Randy also provided me with information about rebates from the furnace manufacturer (Bryant) and from our utility company here in upstate New Yord (National Grid) and helped me to arrange 6-month/no-interest financing through Bryant.


I was very pleased with the installation of the new equipment and while it wasn't able to be completed in 1 day, Farrell Brothers installers returned promptly on successive days to complete the installation.  During the 3 days that it took to complete the job, I had reason to call Randy with various questions and he was always available and patient and answered all of my questions and resolved all of my issues to my satisfaction.

I had a ductless heat pump/ air conditioning unit installed at my townhouse.  The owner (Randy) came out to do the estimate and was helpful in terms of giving me options for installation as well as informative about the process in general.  The workmen (Jake & Ryan) showed up on the initial date of service that we had scheduled - having called ahead to let me know they would be a few minutes late. There was some damage on the original unit and Randy went in search of a new unit right away.  He found one within the hour.  Jake and Ryan worked steadily throughout the day and were polite, respectful and kept me informed throughout the day about their activities.  When installation was complete, Jake was patient in describing instructions for use and suggestions for care.  He answered all my questions thoroughly, with relevant information, and did not 'talk down' to me. The pricing seemed to be in line with other companies offering the same services/products. I also found the office staff to be very responsive to my calls/ questions. I would not hesitate to use Farrel Bros. again for any of the services they provide.
